Began training in 1987 at the age of 4 ½ in the welsh town of Hay on Wye where her

    father ran a small Dojo. In 1990 she began to train along side her father under the

    watchful eye of Tom Beardsley. Direct student of the late Kimura Sensei.

   At the age of 14 she was selected to become part of his junior squad enabling her to

    take part in some major tournaments around England.In 1999 she represented the UK group 

    Australia where she fought through several rounds to win Gold She was also selected to go

    to Japan that same year and again to Australia in 2000. Amy gained her 2nd Dan in 2002.In March 2006

    Amy Was awarded her 3rd Dan By Master Kunio Murayama during one of his visits to the UK.

   And tested for  her Shidion teaching licence in September 2007. In May 2010 Amy  was promoted to 4th Dan by Sensei Murayama.
